EVENT Project

The Government of Nepal and the International Development Association have entered into the Financing Agreement of the Enhanced Vocational Education and Training Project (EVENT Project) on 30 June, 2011.The Project is being implemented by the four year “EVENT Project” through a Project Secreteriat (“PS”)under the Ministry of Education (MOE),the Government of Nepal (GON).The main objective of “EVENT Project” is to expand the supply of skilled and employable workforce by increasing acess to quality training programs, and by strengthening the technical and vocational education and training systems in Nepal.

The of “EVENT Project”is expected to improve access to Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVT)Programs for disadvantaged youth through targeting and other inclusive processes and pay special attention to lagging regions, poor youths, women, and youths belonging to Dalit, disadvantaged Janjatis and other marginalized communities such as persons with disabilities.

The Project consists of four components .The four components of the project are :

1. Strengthening TEVT Regulatory Activities and Capacity Building
2. Strengthening Technical Education
3. Support for Short term Training and Recognition of Prior Learning and
4. Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation

Sub activities under Component -3 are Voucher Based Short term Training and Result Based Short Term Training
