Employment Fund

Employment Fund is jointly established by SDC, DFID and HELVETAS Nepal funded by SDC, DFID and the World Bank and managed and administered by Employment Fund Secreteriat (EFS)/HELVETAS Nepal (HN).Under the terms and conditions EFS agrees to purchase services on following two components:

Component 1 : Skills for youths for enterprising and job creation (MEJC)

This covers the career counseling , entrepreneurial knowledge  and motivation , technical skills , support to establish enterprise and operate to create new jobs. Additionally this also covers the cost for providing the support services to youths through business clinic after the enterprise establishment. Technical Skills training must be of NSTB L2 where  NSTB L2 is available.

Component 2 : Skills and employment for youth with special need including very poor (PTP)

In the recent years, vocational and skill development trainings are emerging as a viable element to increase unemployed, underemployed and poor youth’s access to labour markets and creating self-employment and entrepreneurship development opportunities. Still large ranges of factors such as low level of literacy, social stigmatization, gender and social discrimination place of living, and low level of awareness are the major barriers in lowering poor youth’s access to such skill development training opportunities. Therefore, we need a special focus to very poor youths and gender and social inclusion approaches while selecting trainees.

The general objective of the assignment is to provide quality occupational skill training and employment services to 20 unemployed and underemployed youths from the margilized and poor communities and create gainful wage or self- employment opportunities among in demanded occupations in the construction, manufacturing and service sectors through short term (3 months) trade trainings
